Shane Doyle completed his university studies
in the natural sciences and then worked at Mala Mala game reserve,
where he spent five years capturing images that slowly cultivated
his own expression of photography. He has travelled extensively
since then - firstly to Dubai (where he spent 2 years flying
falcons and capturing the essence of desert life on film and
experiencing a lifestyle quite different to South Africa), Kenya,
Tanzania, Zanzibar, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, the west
coast of the U.S.A, the Canadian Rockies as well as to Slovakia
and Malaysia.
Upon his return to South Africa after Dubai, Shane spent time developing
and marketing his own range of inspirational postcards throughout
South Africa, Namibia and Swaziland. These are available at various
outlets around the country.
He has also been applying his imagery to canvas, marketing this product
through select game lodges as well as doing commissioned work. Mashatu
private game reserve has recently upgraded their accommodation and
has furnished their walls exclusively with Shane's imagery - the
theme being local culture and wildlife. The medium has been a limited
edition of signed black and white prints.
Shane's love for the outdoors has also led him into polo photography.
He has assisted BMW South Africa in documenting their International
Polo Series for the last four years. This has resulted in various
commissioned projects including the decor of an exclusive polo clubhouse
as well as an upmarket restaurant in the Natal Drakensberg area with
large canvas images of wildlife, zulu portraits and polo imagery.
Weddings are another offering that Shane has in his quiver. His
angle
on weddings is unique. Firstly, he will see and take the photographs
of those special moments that need to be captured on such an occasion.
And secondly, his ability to able to maximise the energy
that he puts into each
wedding. This is due to the fact
that he does not commit to more than 2 weddings per month. So book
well in advance.
Shane's travels have followed his heart and his photography merely
serves as an outlet for his expression. To visualise is merely an
attitude toward photography, hence Shane's work is a total freedom
of expression and is no way restricted by others ideas of the art.
We trust you will enjoy your cyber travels through Shane's art, appreciating
it for its simplicity and variations. Please don't hesitate to contact
him for any information regarding commissioned works or any of the
works in the product category. |
